Last week, OpenSea launched natively on the Layer-1 blockchain Avalanche. Let’s see how it panned out with a look at the top five Avalanche NFTs on the world’s largest NFT marketplace.
Even as NFT activity continues to slow down in general, established players in the NFT world are still joining forces in the hopes of reaching more people. The latest to do so were OpenSea, the world’s largest NFT marketplace, and Layer-1 blockchain Avalanche.
Through its Avalanche integration, OpenSea users can settle NFT transactions faster and with lower transaction fees. What’s more, Avalanche NFTs will be easily accessible through OpenSea. According to John Wu, Ava Labs’ president, part of the Avalanche community was keen on having OpenSea on board.
“We have a budding and vibrant creator and NFT community, and they wanted OpenSea as a choice,” Wu said. As a result, all Avalanche-based NFT collections are now featured on OpenSea, with more rolling out in the coming days.
On OpenSea’s part, its vice president of product, Shiva Rajaraman, said it’s always been the company’s goal “to offer the best selection and connect people with projects and creators across the chains they prefer.”
