ApeCoin released the latest update on its proposed ApeCoin newsletter, AIP-66, for transparency and to keep its users and investors in the loop to avoid second-guessing and confusion.
In an effort to keep its users and investors in the loop with its goings-on, ApeCoin, through its official Twitter account, has dedicated one day a week for updates. It calls it “Transparency Tuesday,” and this week, it updated its followers on the proposed ApeCoin newsletters under AIP-66.
In the tweet, the ApeCoin team reported that the proposal for AIP-66 submitted last week had been approved on Snapshot. According to the post, AIP-66 kicks off funding for ApeCoin newsletters.
Why ApeCoin Newsletters Are Imperative
Per the abstract submitted for AIP-66, the ApeCoin team is pushing for the development and distribution of newsletters. Members of the ApeCoin DAO can be put in charge of developing and distributing content, which would be a beneficial source of information for everyone in the community.
Platforms like Substack, Ghost, Mailchimp, or anything similar will be used to develop the newsletters. The newsletters should also be an aggregation of ApeCoin-specific ecosystem news, AIPs, conversations, and opportunities. They could also contain content sourced from various websites like Discourse, Discord, Twitter, and others.
The main idea behind the newsletters is to educate members and promote all things related to the ApeCoin DAO. The ApeCoin team is determined to help the community develop trusted sources of information from decentralized channels and provide benefits over and above a single source of information.
ApeCoin’s Rationale for Newsletter Proposal
The abstract explains that the ApeCoin team knows several ad hoc channels on the Internet, and the proposal for the newsletters’ funding is to provide said channels the money to expand their reach. The budget would also help them dedicate more resources to spreading the ApeCoin ecosystem and DAO news.
Moreover, the ApeCoin Foundation will not dip its hands in the newsletters’ content, nor will it approve what’s in the newsletters. Apparently, the newsletter team it would be building will be in the best position to decide what should be and shouldn’t be used as content for the newsletters.
With the approval of the proposal, the ApeCoin Foundation’s next step is to pass the AIP to jumpstart the nomination of teams who would take on the newsletter project. The foundation needs nominees who currently operate social media or communication channels with huge followings.
The top three nominations will be chosen based on how many likes each nominee’s comment has from users who have been on Discourse for more than five days. Also, the team(s) selected to participate in this AIP must agree to an ApeCoin Grant Agreement.
The ApeCoin Foundation will incentivize whoever will be selected to handle the newsletters’ creation and distribution. The timeline is one year, during which the chosen ones will deliver bi-monthly newsletters to subscribers every other week. Upon validation, each selected team will receive 400 ApeCoin per month from the ApeCoin Foundation.
Should the ApeCoin newsletters push through, the foundation will cap the time for the idea to one year. After a year, it will be decided if ApeCoin will continue the newsletters via a new AIP. However, the ApeCoin Foundation hopes that the selected teams will have built up a large enough audience at the end of one year to have a self-sustaining business model.
