Today, a concept artist who regularly posts items in his portfolio on various social media spaces minted his first pixel art NFT.
A concept artist and art educator specializing in stylized architecture and environments minted his first pixel art NFT on Foundation on Wednesday. @jmw327 and has accounts in various social media spaces where he promotes his designs.
JMW327 has an Art Station account where his works are on display, ready to be purchased by interested buyers. He also advertises himself as a commission artist who uses his social media accounts to accept commissioned artworks for various clients.
Commission artists are known to give their all to their artworks, and user jmw327 is no exception. His past works displayed on Art Station are exceptionally good, and while he is currently not accepting commissions through his Ko-Fi account, his followers only have nice words to say about his works. One user even said asked jmw327 to hit him up should the latter transition to NFTs. Looks like that time is now.
jmw327 From Artworks to NFTs
Early on Wednesday, jmw327 tweeted about his plans to try out NFTs even if he doesn’t understand them or why NFTs have gained much traction in recent years. According to the user, what is clear to him is he can’t stand aside earning less than 10k a year, implying that he is aware there is good money in NFTs.
He asked for understanding from his followers if his post seemed rather money-centric, but the user’s tweet was as realistic as it gets. He even intimated that getting into NFTs was a way for him “to be able to afford healthcare and stuff.”
In a follow-up tweet, he encouraged his followers to check out his page on Foundation, where his first newly-minted NFT is on display.
The user’s pixel art NFT, described as “a little corner of town,” is currently open to bidders on Foundation. The first bid for the NFT worth Ξ 10 or about $20,200 came in roughly six minutes after user jmw327 minted it.
The bid dropped to its lowest at Ξ 1 or roughly $2,000 about an hour after minting. And while the NFT saw various bid fluctuations, it has since received its highest bid thus far from @skyquake_1. User @skyquake_1 bid Ξ 19 or about $38,500 for the pixel art.
Also, jmw327 is collaborating with Moonstone Island for a game. Moonstone Island is a “deckbuilding life-sim set in an open-world with creatures to collect, items to craft, dungeons to explore, and secrets to discover!”
Now that JMW327 has explored the world of NFTs and is on the verge of selling his first pixel art NFT, things could be looking up for him. It may not be long before we see him in a full-blown collaboration with Moonstone Island.
